“For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.” (Isaiah
Heavenly Father, I pray that all who are called by Your Name will walk in the spirit of humility, just as Jesus walked. Help us to live out that humility each and every day, deliberately seeking to be more like Christ—to act justly, love mercy and live each day recognizing that pride leads to destruction and humility breeds honor. Thank you, Father, for leading and guiding your children in the way that is right and good in your sight as we humbly submit and surrender to your will. Thank you for loving us past our failures into a future filled with your promises! It’s in Jesus’ sovereign name I pray…Amen.
“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8)
Father, I pray that all Christians will commit to humbly bowing before You in prayer at the beginning of each day in order to receive strength and grace needed for the Journey. Help us to overcome all obstacles, tricks and traps of the enemy in order that we might live holy and represent the kingdom well. It’s In Jesus’ mighty name I pray. Amen
“But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:6-7)
Heavenly Father, Thank you for your new mercies today! Thank you for another opportunity to live for you and to love one another. Thank you for your grace that you freely give, and for forgiving us of our sins, transgressions and iniquities. Father, we ask that you wash us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness, so that we will be pleasing in your sight. Help us to effectively show and share the love of Christ as we go—discerning when to be as humble as a Lamb and as fierce as a Lion in order to accomplish every good work for the building up of Your Kingdom here on earth. “And that servant who knew his master’s will, but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating…Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.” (Luke 12:47-48)
Little things can make a big impact on our lives. When you consider the mouth in comparison to other parts of the human anatomy, it may not seem as significant—but it is a powerful instrument to be used for good or evil—to bring joy or pain. The mouth can be used as an instrument for uplifting and encouraging or it can be dastardly and devastating to others based upon the “words” that come forth from it.
Think about it…how have you used your mouth lately? Perhaps in praise, prayer, encouragement, motivation, and blessings—to praise and worship our Lord and Savior? Maybe you have used your “words” as a secret weapon when you get into verbal arguments—or, to strike back at someone who you feel has wronged you—or, to tear down and curse people…those who were created in God’s likeness? Praises and curses coming from the same mouth…the apostle James says that these things ought not to happen—“…If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body” (James 3:2-10). So, as you self-reflect on your verbal history, remember… “Speak No Evil”.
